Not alone

Mao slowly crept closer, pushing a stone in front of him. It was heavy, but he needed it to be this size.
He stilled when his 'target' shifted in his sleep. When it curled only closer in on itself he continued.
He pushed the stone close to the sleeping figure, careful not to wake him. The rock was warm.

Mao smiled, hoping his friend would enjoy his momentary gift. He looked at the other aeniama tenderly.
Oh, Fahne. If only he could take away the pain in the other's heart. At least this way he might feel a little warmer.
Mao turned and prepared to sneak away, but not before whispering something in the other aeniama's ear.

"You're not alone."
