PN - Moonlit sky

Thanatos, a charizard/marowak  and Scarlette, a growlithe,  wandered by the lake and the later watched mesmerized as stars reflected of the water’s surface. Thanatos smiled, he loved the look in his love’s eyes, ever in wonder about the world around her. Sometimes he wished he could take her more places like this. Show her the world and beyond, but then he was one of the sky and she from the ground. Still he loved to stay down and watch the world from her perspective. They wandered for a long time and eventually became tired. Scarlette circled around, flattening some grass along the lake, making them a bed. Thanatos didn’t really fit though, but the huge charizard/marowak just smiled and laid himself down. He’d never understand why she felt the need to make a bed, but he found it charming. She put effort into that, trying to make it cozy for them both, so he never commented or complained.

They laid side by side and after a while, Scarlette turned herself on her back, looking at the star filled sky. “You know, sometimes I look at the stars and imagine pictures up there.” Thanatos turned his head, following her gaze. He looked at the stars for a whole other reason. “I look to the stars and wish.” Scarlette turned her head towards him. “What do you wish for. Do you wish often?” Thanatos look dazedly at the sky and nodded. “I only ever wished for one thing.” The growlithe looked at him surprised. “What do you wish for? Has your wish been granted yet?” Thanatos looked at her from the corner of his eyes, pretending to keep looking at the stars. “Yes, I have you, don’t I?” It took a moment for that statement to settle, but when it registered Scarlette broke out in a huge smile. “You idiot, why do you keep wishing for something you already have?” She asked,  looking at him with mirth in her eye. Thanatos suddenly turned, bringing his nose close to hers. “Cause I wish to keep you forever.” Scarlette flushed at that, looking embarrassed as her mate nuzzled her. “You’re such a sap.” But Thanatos saw the smile she was hiding.

She was confused when he got up, glancing off to the side. She could tell he was thinking about asking her something, but she had no idea what. What was he so nervous about? “Ask.” The charizard/Marowak locked eyes with her and something flickered in those dark depts. “Do you trust me?” He asked. Scarlette nodded, a bit unsure about why he asked such thing and now of all times. “Of course, I do.” Thanatos looked up to the sky. “I want to show the world from my view.”  The growlithe was confused. “Your view?” He nodded. “Please, fly with me.”

Later that night, a shadow flew over the starry lake and two Pokémon watched the fields below as fireflies danced over the grass. It turned out Scarlette was as willing to fly as he was to stay on the ground. In the end none of their differences mattered. All that was left was them and their love. Alone under the moonlit sky.
