Battle of The Drenched fields

Farmers around Onea know that they have been blessed with fertile land when it comes the farmlands, more fertile than it should have been naturally. Kaia had reached out and provided when her people needed it. Many horses also say that that blessing came at a cost. That just like their herd was forged in war, those fields were forged in blood. Tales passed down from generation to generation became warped over time and the who and the when, those details got lost. It's however said it was long ago, not long after the God's war that a huge battle took place between two clans. Their names would have been forgotten, because there was nobody to left to pass it on, but there were whispers of who they might have been. It was after the god's war, with clan going against clan to exert their strenght and claim the most fertile grounds. Two of them took up of what today is known as the farmlands. Back then that ground was poor and horses starved. They needed more ground to feed hungry mouths and with that alliances between clans turned south. The two clans marched on eachtoher and tore eachother apart. Their inter clan war, now known as the battle of the drenched fields, was one of gruesome occasion. They fought and fought and in the meantime lost so many, that in the end no horse of either clan was left standing. It was a tradgedy even then.

Saddened to see her children murder eachother like this and she swore never again over a thing she could prevent. And with that she took to herself, the blood of the fallen, those fields which were drenched in red and took it all to nurture the land. It is so that the farmland's fertility came to be.

In Kaia's stead, some horses in warforged have taken to a parallel practise, having family and friends plant something on their grave, their decaying body giving back to the earth Kaia created for them. "He/She has grown a forest." Is an expression of respect for a deceased, meaning they had much impact on others during life. "He/she is growing flowers already." is a similar expression, but refers to a living horse who's already giving back to the community.
