Charismatic | Patient | Curious | Intelligent
Manipulative | Changeable | Judgemental | Hard-working

Linnea is a mare who grew up believing Talori herd was the best place to be and that it's way of life was the only just one. Having spent serveral years as emmisary to Serora herd, this belief has stregnhtened. As a result she looks upon other herds with disdain, considering to be much on the same if not of worse class than Talorian pegasi. Due to her mother's teachings, Linnea is also somewhat of an elitist. Even when little, her mother had whispered into her ear how they had been chosen, how they were better, purer, stronger than some others. It's no surprise Linnea grew up with that feeling at the back of her mind. When Digend and then Medulla reached out to her, that feeling was solidified. One of her goals in life is now to reveal those who are chosen as well. She will be judgemental, judging others on their actions quietly and openly alike, seeing who fails and who steps forward as the end of the world grows nearer.

To her god, she is devoted and she acts to his wishes. She carries a rather specific set of believes in her mind which she sees as general truths. She considers herself spiritual and seeks what she calls truth. The more truth she finds, the clearer the path to the new age will become. She's quite philosophical in this aspect and is changeable in her beliefs because of it, easiliy adapting her views to fit new pieces of information. This is not the say she will not shape 'the truth' to fit her own believes.

Her elitism and devotion lead her to be quite self-rightous when it comes to her actions. She beliefs she's acting in the name of a greater good and that some may just not understand. She uses her intelligence and charm to manipulate those around her in subtle ways, always making it feel like they weren't influenced at all. She can be quite convincing and has great patience, not opposed waiting for the right moment or planning over an extended period of time. She believes that everything in the world is earned through hard work and nothing good will come to those who sit back and let things pass by them.

.:: History ::.

[-| Pre-group history |-]

Prologue ||

To understand the way Linnea grew up, one needs to look back and start with her mother. Noreen was a Talorian philospher who acted as a loremaster for her herd. She didn't enjoy anything quite as much as studying history and lore. Aside from what was avaiable through what her herd had archived and what passed down by elders, she also enjoyed what word came down by the docks, where rogues brought exotic knowledge. It's through rumors and whispers that Noreen caught wind of a pagan god that was not mentioned in any books she had previously heard of. Curiousity sparked she dug into it, studying history and checking if perhaps something had been missed. With information vague at best, she was left interpreting this deity, Digend, and his origins in her own way. Destruction was a word that came along with the rumors, so Noreen sought if perhaps destruction where this pagan god originated from.

The god's war was something of history that had been long lost, but its tales were still passed down, warped, fragmented. Noreen found it curious that what little was mentioned, destruction, was so prominent an event in their history. Even more so, she recognized that that destruction was not mere destruction either, but was the end of a war and the start of a new chapter in time. Rebirth. Noreen recognized it as true and in secret kept developing her theories out of nothing, a true philospher with her own theories.

Birth and onwards ||

Noreen came of a family of decent standing and she was matched to a stallion that matched this. Inias was a model citizen and a model husband. As they had children together, he also became a model father, providing care as was expected. Noreen cared little for her marriage, but played the good housewife anyway because she considered herself proper. It was with her firstborn Linnea that she shared her secrets.

Linnea was raised traditionally by both parents, with strict values and no room for doubt when it came to their herd and their customs. They attended festivities religiously and paid their traditional respects to their emperor and goddess. As Linnea grew older, Noreen's claims and theories about the Digend became more outrageous, whispering to her daughter that history would repeat itself and world would come undone again. That they were the chosen ones, chosen by Digend and that when the time came, the god would call upon them. As Linnea grew older, she started to question what her mother told her some more. Because while she believed Digend was a thing, why could the rest of the herd not know? Why did nobody talk about him? Why did he not give blessings like the rest of the gods?

What her mother said held truth, but to Linnea Digend had not quite yet arrived and he stood just like any other god, alongside the others of note. With her father working at the docs overseeing trade and her mother ever buzzy with her obsessions when it came to her job, Linnea started shadowing her mentor young. She had developed her own interest in lore and history, but also herd customs and choose to study it at the temple, having had the privilege to learn to read. At first she just stuck around and watched, liking to observe and learn, see who behaved and who came in attempt to wash away what her parents called sins. Once she reached the age of ten, she officially requested she be taken as apprentice, learning whatever she needed to. Her interest was clear from the start so when she graduated, she swiftly choose the path of spiritual guidance and care, choosing to dig deeper in Talori customs and traditions, alongside religious texts.

Her mother's teachings, though questioned, were not without influence on Linnea and she always felt like she was special, stronger than some others in her herd, purer. And she felt like she needed to guide those beneath her, guide them but also test them. Test if their intentions were proper. She'd flirt with horses, subtly, not quite open enough to be obvious, but vague enough to tempt the hopeful and weak. If they showed themselves unhonorable, she was quick to call them out upon it and refer them for lecture from clerics like herself or on rarer occasion, turn them in for punishment. If there was anything Linnea was good at, it was making horses feel bad if what they did was unwanted and feel great if what they did was in line with her vision.

As said Linnea considered herself of clearer spirit than others. One of the things one needed to be devoted for was the position of emissary. You had to stand strongly  on your hooves or you'd loose your way. Many could only imagine what it would be like to do such a thing. At age twenty-four, a new emmisary was being sought to take the position in Serora herd. Linnea let word go around that she would be willing to take up such position, having charm go a long way and she managed to get selected for the job. Her family was proud and Linnea was sure she was better fitted for such position than anyone else.

Serora herd was worse than expected. Or perhaps it was exactly like expected, but nothing could prepare her for the shock. Not only where pegasi abundand, some parts of Sedo only avaiable to them, but they acted like they were equals. The desert was dry and hot, making her long for Cascade's soft dampness, and the horses... The Serorans were the worst. They held no sacrifices and were deprived when it came to proper housing, proper art, proper anything. Their behavior was soaked in sin, taking partners casually, without regard for gender, marriage or even number! It was disgusting as was their worship if Alya. Linnea stealed herself, glad they had not let a weaker horse come to this herd, she was strong enough, she could bear this. She learned to set up a proper smile, act polite, negotiate, listen and get information. Of Talori she saw little, but she kept contact. She received word from her father, telling her Noreen was slowly losing herself. There was something off, her father had said.

In her few trips home, Linnea managed to keep in line with society's standards. She requested to be matched by a mare her age who made matches for living and it was so she aqcuired herself a husband. With him she had children, though she saw little of them in the first few years of their  lives, raised by their father and a nanny. When she was thirty-eight she received word her mother had been taken into the care of clerics, the mare reduces to incohorent ramblings. At age fourty she was told her husband passed away, an accident with a boat. Though she expressed proper grieve as was expected from her as widow, she felt herself not all too stricken. It was however interesting to see the Serorans' reactions. They did not know such things were often arranged and not out of love.

One stallion in particular caught Linnea's attention. In a foreign land, still uncomfortable despite her long stay, he acted proper, classy like a Talorian, standing apart in his herd. He courted her and for the first time, Linnea felt something that might be called love. She was smithen and when he asked for her hoof, she insisted to married in Talorian fashion despite being in her host herd. That was three years before she resigned. She carried his child and cared as she should next to her duties of spying on her hosts. She could do it.

Until her disgust grew to strong. Her husband may have acted perfectly, but he wasn't. She had judged him incorrectly. One evening of festivities he drank a bit too much, that weird cactus stuff Linnea detested, but put up with because she had long given up on expecting proper behavior of those Serorans. And then her husband was dancing, just a little too close, a little too familiar with another stalllion, to end up pressing noses together. Linnea was as disgusted as she was hurt and requested her assignment be terminated, leaving her so called family behind in Serora herd. She did so gracefully, as if it were a regular end of duty and not showing her anger and hurt.

Back home she resumed her duties as cleric, working in Inaria itself. She worked tirelesly, resuming care of her children, though it felt somewhat forced and they had become estranged. Her anger and hurt, left unadressed, festered and even more so than before Linnea's attention went towards those that fell out of herd's norm. It seemed more than before. Worse than before. And it seemed to gradually get worse as time went on. From that failed sacrifice before she returned to openly transgender horses to so much more. She saw it and she wished to beat it down, to lead her herdmates towards a better future. One where her herd evolved into a more pure state. Her mother's teachings of Digend played at the back of her mind, her herd needed to be reborn.

Many things happened. Aodh showed themselves to be as bad as the Serorans, the scandal of the empress they sent, followed by another disaster when their offered replacement was a pagasi foal. It fueled Lin's conviction that Talori was better off without them, maybe even better off colonizing them and showing them the way. Once Linnea turned seventy-three she was -finally- offered a position as grandcleric, something she gladly accepted.

Age seventy-five was a turning point in her life. She started having dreams. Of a vague figure that made promises. A figure that was a god, promises and a god that started to follow her outside her dreams. And then Medulla who explained everything. Digend. The god her mother told her about, they knew of them. They knew of them and he was coming and she was indeed chosen. Like her mother had said. She learned new truths and her views changed. Now she was testing, pushing, but she was doing so with purpose, seeking those worthy for Digend and those handy for his plans. She enjoyed herself more than before.

1700 passed quickly, her herd steeped in chaos. She loathed these flock horses, the camps divided. But she also saw what was meant, the start in a chains of events. She raised her voice within Torinne, where she was captured amongst many, speaking of hope and courage, riling them up against the flock, but also testing boundaries between themselves. Who kept in line under stress? Who would succeed? She herself knew it was all because Digend was coming and she'd be ready for them and the new world that laid ahead.

  [-| Views & Beliefs |-]

The gods || Linnea worships Digend, though her views differ from others as a big chunk is based off herbmother's beliefs. She sees Digend as a god of destruction as well as creation, a god of evolution and rebirth. Though the other gods exist, Digend was the first and he shall be the last. From him came all other gods, but they were imperfect. Cascade, Argus and Kaia were the good children, each taking an aspect from Digend. Cascade his attribute of rebirh, Argus in search of knowledge and truth, while Cascade provided strenght. Alya and Ignacio the bad children, examples to the world on how not to act. Digend is perfection. They're everything, both male and female, they are the only being to be whole, not even the other gods reaching that level of balance. Linnea believes that time loops and that Digend will show themselves, starting an apocalyptic chain of events than will test all equines. As Digend clears the world, those who are chosen will be allowed to walk the new world and live in the golden era that will follow.

Stigma || Linnea is very traditional in her views. She's for sacrifices, against the flock, treats pegasi as lesser and frows upon any other improper behavior. She will be judgmental of those who stray and speaks up against such behavior. More subtly she provokes others this way.

Other herds || The Talori way is the only right way and Linnea would either see their herd cut off from the outside world or see the other herds colonized so they can be properly cultured. She's against rogues as well.

[Roleplay Example]
Taken from Starborn-Alignment

Leonardo looked on in amazement as the young Aodhian monarch spoke, presenting their herd with the legendary creatures of which he had only heard in tales and books. He turned away from the food stand, trying to get a better look, thinking the stall keeper would surely hand over the food to Ciel. Their king spoke, accepting the gift and filling Leon with thrill. This. This was it, no doubt. The start of peace, a moment that would go down into history and he was privileged enough to attend it. But it all ended in a moment. Gone was the excitement, replaced by confusion and just the slightest bit of panic as an ear deafening boom resounded and a bright light blinded him. It took a couple of moments for both his sight and hearing to return and by the time it did, horses were already pushing and screaming, panic taking hold of the crowd in the explosion's aftermath. Leon tried to keep his place, but was inadvertently swept away by the crowd, separating him from Ciel. He vehemently prayed the stallion would be all right in his current state. He took note of the pygmy dragons, who had escaped in the commotion, and the crumbled building, trying to make sense of what had just happened. A sense of panic again clawed at his heart, seeing the damage done by the explosion and he asked Argus to make sure that please no horse got hurt. He willed himself to stay calm, knowing panic would only make the situation worse. Looking around to see if he could find his old men, his eye fell on something else. A shadow between the nearby buildings, moving about in an awfully suspicious matter. His skin prickled as his eyes locked onto it, feeling himself moving forward. Something was off and as he steeled himself to push into its direction, his curiosity whispered for him to find out what was up.
