Lilliana is a finely build mare with sub-average muscle definition, making her unfit for carrying a lot of weight. Light in weight in general, she quickly becomes under-weighted when experiences flares of illness. She overall gives off a fragile look. A key feature of her is her long flowing manes which she greatly enjoys caring for. You may find her wearing flowers on occasion, but aside from that always keeps them loose. Another defining trait is her eyes which lie deep and speak of the things she has been through in life. As for accessories Lilliana wears little of them and if she does she has a strong preference for natural objects such as earlier mentioned flowers and gems. In her movements Lilly is tender, slow and she gives off an aura of mystery, which can be both enthralling and suspicious to other horses. She has learned to converse energy which is a main reason why she moves the way she does. Her voice is soft and eloquent, speaking slow and clear. Sometimes it has a certain rasp to it when tired or sick, but when signing it is a voice that moves.

Accessories ||
  • Flowers - On occasion [LOCKED]
  • A lantern - Frequently when it's dark or moving underground

Dreamer • Escapist Imaginative Secretive Closed
Peaceful Amenable Accepting Deeply feeling • Selfless
Adaptable Resilient Pure Intuitive Spiritual

[ Dreamer • Escapist • Imaginative ]
"Lost in her dreams, lost in her mind, lost in a world reality can't find."

Lilliana is a true romanticist, having a strong tendency to lean towards that what is heroic, adventurous, mysterious or idealized. She just likes imagining things just a bit better, special or magical than they truly are and might put meaning behind things others don't. Though she gives off the impression of lacking experience and knowledge of the world and having a general unworldly air, she is quite aware of the world's imperfection. Her habit of diverting her mind towards the idealistic and fantastical provides a way to escape this reality. While it allows her a certain freedom, it is not practical nor realistic. Often she is left feeling melancholic or the victim of a sad kind of nostalgia. Feeling she should be happy, she then finds it easier to cover tears with laughter. Her imagination that has the mare walking around with her head in the cloud and her little heart caught up in dreams, also provides her with a sense of creativity that's especially helpful in her career as a bard, easily making or thinking up new things.

[ Secretive • Closed ]
"Ever mysterious, keeping things veiled. She stands so close, but just out of reach."

Talking about herself and her past is quite painful and seeing how she would rather avoid all things unpleasant, Lilliana has taken to secrecy. More personal questions are answered vaguely or not at all and she keeps private things private. 'Cause this mysterious behaviour only happens to make others more curious, she has taken to switching between travelling groups, only those who know her longest knowing what's going on with her. Because she's not very intimidating, horses often peg her as quiet or shy, both things she is really not. This is not to say, she doesn't enjoy being a little mysterious.

[ Peaceful • Amenable • Accepting ]
"She isn't for judging or changing the world. Quietly accepting, though it's not always loved."

Lilly is not one for violence or force, not easily seduced into arguing or fighting. This especially true when it comes to herself for she will defend what is precious to her, but is not likely to do the same for herself. Rather than speaking up when being mistreated she either endures or runs off. She isn't too keen on disagreeing, rather going with what's asked than fighting it. In defence of others she is, though gentle in nature, not one to step up and voice opposition to the current rule either, but will instead quietly accept you for what you are. She has a very open mind and is more than willing to see what others have to tell and hear the things they see and believe in. Perhaps a little too much. Even when it clashes with her own views, she will listen out of respect for what they have to tell. She believes it is hardly her place to judge.

[ Deeply feeling • Selfless ]
"Feelings run deeply inside her heart. Caring and selfless till she falls apart."

Lilliana has a capacity to feel deeply and strongly, often dominated and led by her feelings, rather than reason. All her emotions run a little to deep and so does her passion and anger, who despite lying hidden nice and deep, are quite explosive when provoked. Same goes with her sorrows which she hides in sight off others' eyes, but once alone will make her crumble down. She is sensitive and can change moods quite abruptly, the change triggered by seemingly small cues. This sensitivity also makes her very aware of other's feeling and she is understanding of them, finding forgiveness and hope for horses that others would have long cast aside. She is capable of great compassion. In general she is known to show strong concern for others and shows a willingness help and to give unselfishly to her fellow horse (or other living being). This altruism has it's darkness though as selflessness becomes a danger and she pushes herself aside in favour of other horses. It has become irresistible, that pull towards those that need help, and often she ends up hurting herself. Any sound mind would peg this behaviour nothing short of self-sabotage.

[ Adaptable • Resilient ]
"Resilient in face of all misfortune, she is adapting and changes her tune."

Adaptability is the one thing being a vagabond absolutely requires and luckily it is something Lilliana is. Change comes rather easy to her when it comes to mindset and she does not have the tendency to hold on to old beliefs if better and newer ones are presented. She also is capable of letting go and just drifting with the flow without worrying were it will bring her. Thanks to her illness she has also learned how to bounce back after bad times and it's that certain toughness that has helped her greatly so far.

[ Pure • Spiritual • Intuitive ]
"Intuitively knowing, she believes in higher good. And when speaking, she speaks her own truth."

Despite the need to adapt, the environment ever changing, and opinions and practises being so diverse in their world, Lilly has stayed pure in character. She acts according to her own perceptions and speaks her own truth however off it may be. She considers herself just like every other thing in their realm a creation of the gods, giving her a deep sense of spirituality. She signs for others and the higher good. Magic, gods and spirits are all commonace in her beliefs. She has a strong sense of intuition because of this as well. She often knows which path to take and which things to say without putting too much thought into it or applying logic to things. She seems to have a sixth sense that guides her through life and she is happy for it.

[-| Pre-group history |-]

As a Foal||
Once upon a time in the region Onea a young mare called Roselia wed a fine stallion called Eliam. It had been arranged by their parents' family; An union that though not the most romantic, brought forth a new life, a foal.  Winter had not yet left the land when Lilliana came to this world, a tad earlier than planned, but nonetheless welcomed by her parents. And for the first few years she grew. Her life filled with clear laughter, unaware of the darkness that lurked in the depths of her own body. While her frailness of birth seemed to disappear as she aged, her health gave small cues of what was to come. A little cough, maybe a little easier cold than average, a bit more sick than a regular foal would be, but with some help from medics it was something that was soon forgotten. And so the monster grew.

Little by little her condition got worse, so slowly it was hardly noticed in it's upcoming, yet eventually so clear it could not be ignored. It came with peaks, the ugly monster rearing it's head and slinking back again. Little Lilliana suffered from fevers, headaches and a need to sleep that was not healthy. Of course her parents sought help, not knowing what was wrong with their little flower, but to no avail. The medics knew not of this decease, so curing it they could not. It saddened their parents greatly and by age ten it was long clear their families had deemed Lilliana a lost cause. Roselia was accused of being unable to give Eliam a healthy foal and her father, embarrassed by what might be truth, offered Eliam a second wife, Myrtle. This mare was much younger in age and Roselia's half-sister. It was a wonder for Lilliana to note how different the relationship between her aunt and her father was than between him and her own mother. It was a wonder she would come to understand as love. The two were in love and their love brought forth another foal, a sister by the name of Amber. Life looked just that bit brighter yet it it also went down from there.

Teenager ||
Amber was a delight for Lilly, the foal, who was much younger, following her every lead. She could tell her stories and take her to the world of her own and the young filly would never question or never judge. It was those early moments in which she and Amber could just escape, even if only a little, from a world of pain. But Amber was young and did not understand her sister's troubles. Their herd was a hard one, every horse expected to do their share. Lilliana could not live up to it.

She tried working the fields as a planter, a somewhat mellow job one would say. But she only grew tired and as the years dragged on and the monster grew larger, it was clear she would be leaving home. Pushing on and on had taken it's toll on the mare and so when time came, she did not fight her faith. As she failed to contribute she would be sent off, her future that one of a slave. Her sister who she had neglected in favour of proving her worth, caught her when she was preparing to leave. She could not bear tell her they would never play again, so she said she was going away, but only for a while. To her shock this only angered the foal. After much yelling and words of hate, Amber ran off, giving no time for goodbyes. Lilliana's heart bled, but she held her tears as she thanked her parents and made her way away from her herd of birth. A single tear escaped her still, falling to the ground. Maybe it made the gods hear her fears.

It was in the dark of the night -Lilliana had long passed hooves from one caravan to another- when a miracle occurred. She could barely keep herself standing, but the traders cared little as they kept them all walking. One moment they were travelling quietly, the next chaos descendent upon the group. It is hard to recount what exactly happened as a group of Vindicators threw themselves onto slaves and traders. What can be told however is that one of them cut Lilliana loose and helped her up and away. One moment she was a slave, ready to be up and sold in Eithne, next she was a free horse, free to wander the land. It was a miracle indeed.

Adult ||
Lilliana was grateful and thanked any god that would hear for sending the vindicators and setting her free. That freedom was not all as amazing as it seemed though. Hireath is a land of danger for a horse on their own and Lilliana was a sick one at that. It was so that she was entrusted to a travelling bard, a mare who was known under the name "Auntie Delilah" by the vindicators. The mare was known for taking on the odd victim of slave trade and showing them the ropes of living on their own. Lilliana took quickly to her love for song and Delilah, happy to see a younger mare showing interest in her job, one with a fine voice at that, eagerly taught her the ropes of the trade. Lilliana learned quickly, enjoying being able to do something without it costing her body too much and with a slow but steady pace the two made towards Sedo, Serora being Delilah's herd of birth. The warmth of the region did Lilliana well and her body's condition improved greatly. It did not mean the monster did no longer came out to play though and Lilliana was submitted under the fine care of Sedo's medicine horses in exchange for the songs she'd learned and the few stories of war-forged she could tell. Hearing her history of rescued slave the kind horses of Serora offered her, as child of Ayla, a place to stay if she'd go through spiritual healing. Lilliana however was still lost in this new life of hers and, though she thanked them for the offer, she declined, wanting see more of this world that now lay open to her. Sedo's medicine horse had different herbs to give than war-forged, but her illness was still not quelled and though the warmth of the lands did her well, she set out to visit Sirith alongside Auntie Delilah. Her need for rest slowed the travelling party down for sure, but Delilah and the horses she travelled with were a lively bunch and they did not mind a slower pace, insisting on it when Lilly apologized. It was quite the change from War-forged for her, just as Sedo had been. It made her curious towards the rest of their world.

Along songs came stories, Lilliana sharing the ones she had heard in War-forged with Delilah who in turn told her the ones she had heard over the years. The life as bard was one that spoke to Lilly's imagination and she found herself thriving on the tales she was fed. One may call it naivety, but whatever Auntie Delilah said was taken without doubt, the magic of it far more alluring than what reality may have been. The older mare had in her search for spirituality consumed one to many things that altered the mind and as such her look on things may have been a little off from what others may find mentally healthy. Delilah of course meant no harm, but many shook their heads as Lilliana drank her every word. They arrived in Breim which brought another cultural shock on Lilly's part. It was soon clear some enjoyed their entertainment while others watched their every move as if ready for them to strike. Lilly learned not to care as she shared her songs with who would listen. It was after Breim they parted, Delilah setting out to Warforged. It was a place Lilliana could not and would not follow. So they parted an Lilliana started on her own.

Finding an audience in Breim's outsiders, Lilly found herself a guide to be taken deeper into the labyrinth. Inside it's cities, she came to understand this herd was much more advanced, so the mare saw her chance and tried to find who would listen to her plight for medicine. She talked to many one horse, trying to explain the unknown she suffered from. Many viewed her with suspicion, just like before, but when a flare had her collapsing on the streets even the most sceptical of horses, could not deny she was sick and she was taken under care. Though even they could not identify what it was she was suffering from, she did get new medicine to suppress the symptoms. Acquiring this more powerful medicine in the innovative herd of Breim, Lilly's condition improved even more. Though she still suffered from bouts and flares, they were less frequent and her job as bard allowed her for pace of life that she could actually enjoy. She travelled between Sedo and Sirith, staying far away from Onea and Eithne fearing capture. She alternated between caravans, meeting many horses she acquaintanced herself with, but she made very little friends. Alone is but alone and a less pretty side of Lilly came peaking around the corner. Maybe it was faith, a misguided cause or misled fascination, but time and time again, Lilliana found herself with friends and worse lovers that were bad for her and her health. They were broken themselves, too lost to repair, were verbally abusive or even raised their hooves against her. It was an ugly sight, to have her heart so broken, but she got herself into it again and again. She sought the good in horses and hoped to fix and mend, but just endured till she could no longer take it and disappeared from their lives. Yet one time things went different, for one time her love for a stallion left her with a belly full. Maybe she became a little wiser, 'cause that was when she ran before she broke. Her belly grew and grew and it was in the sands of Sedo her child came to this world. Lilliana was delighted for she had never hoped to have a foal of her own, considered unwanted lest her illness passed down. It was not something she feared cause she ignored the possibility and she was rewarded as the foal grew to be strong.

She kept travelling back and forth, between Sedo and Sirith to tell her tales and sing her songs. Of her past she dared not think, of the family she missed or what the future might bring. She travelled back and forth in her own little world she had crafted in her mind. Sung her songs and whispered her fantasies in the ears of her child. Oh, the past was long past and the future was unknown, it was the present she escaped. She lived in another world. One that caught up, once Sedo got in trouble. She received word that the herd was not to be visited, all vagabonds to be caught. Now she was confined to the lands of Sirith, the last place in this world for her to hide.

  [-| Views & Beliefs |-]

The gods || Lilliana likes all the gods. Seriously all of them. Yes, even Ignacio. She holds great respect for all and believes that everything in their world was created by them and that they have a plan for all. Though she respects non-believers or hate towards some god by individuals she finds it very disconcerning. Thanks to Aunti Delilah she has some particular beliefs to add on top the general beliefs.

Stigma || Lilliana does not follow the stigma of any herd. She is a very openminded individual.

Other herds || Lilliana doesn't hold any particular judgement against certain herds, being fairly neutral. She enjoys Serora for it's warmth and the open horses. Breim is a little more closed, but she can tell most horses care for eachother. She tends to stay away from Aodh and Warforged to avoid capture and Talori is unreachable for her. She does not support the slave trade between Warforged and Aodh, but can see why it historically developed.

[Roleplay Example]
Taken from Starborn-Alignment

Leonardo looked on in amazement as the young Aodhian monarch spoke, presenting their herd with the legendary creatures of which he had only heard in tales and books. He turned away from the food stand, trying to get a better look, thinking the stall keeper would surely hand over the food to Ciel. Their king spoke, accepting the gift and filling Leon with thrill. This. This was it, no doubt. The start of peace, a moment that would go down into history and he was privileged enough to attend it. But it all ended in a moment. Gone was the excitement, replaced by confusion and just the slightest bit of panic as an ear deafening boom resounded and a bright light blinded him. It took a couple of moments for both his sight and hearing to return and by the time it did, horses were already pushing and screaming, panic taking hold of the crowd in the explosion's aftermath. Leon tried to keep his place, but was inadvertently swept away by the crowd, separating him from Ciel. He vehemently prayed the stallion would be all right in his current state. He took note of the pygmy dragons, who had escaped in the commotion, and the crumbled building, trying to make sense of what had just happened. A sense of panic again clawed at his heart, seeing the damage done by the explosion and he asked Argus to make sure that please no horse got hurt. He willed himself to stay calm, knowing panic would only make the situation worse. Looking around to see if he could find his old men, his eye fell on something else. A shadow between the nearby buildings, moving about in an awfully suspicious matter. His skin prickled as his eyes locked onto it, feeling himself moving forward. Something was off and as he steeled himself to push into its direction, his curiosity whispered for him to find out what was up.
